How it comes together.

  1. Step 01

    Arrange the tomato slices and mozzarella slices alternately on a serving platter, creating a slightly overlapping pattern.

  2. Step 02

    Tuck fresh basil leaves between the tomato and mozzarella. Drizzle generously with the best olive oil you have, then add a small drizzle of aged balsamic.

  3. Step 03

    Finish with flaky salt and freshly ground black pepper. Serve immediately at room temperature — never cold from the refrigerator, as that mutes the flavors.
